Definitions of Love

1. Crawling through tubes 20 feet off the ground with 10,000 3- to 7-year-olds so not-quite-3-year-old son can keep up with older brother sliding down into ball pit (aka Static Electricity Hell). (Ok, actually, that was a lot of fun for me, too.)

2. Pushing shopping cart with 2 children while simultaneously pulling baby carriage for remainder of day so that the Man of the House can shop to his heart's delight at Cabela's, where the deer and the antelope are dead and staring at you from every wall. (Lots less fun.)

3. Allowing your incredibly exhausted wife to get 8 hours of sleep uninterupted, while you deal with the baby all night. THIS IS THE FINEST EXAMPLE.

Definitions 4 & 5---driving 90 miles one way to see your new step grandchild, having the older child physically wear you out, drive another 90 miles home and your spousal unit letting you sleep til 9:47. A new record for the weary. Hope you got your rest Colleen, it could be a while before you see another 8 hours of sleep.......

Oh. Wow. That's awesome. My hubby is one of those wonderful guys, too; and he'd totally do that for me, but he'd have to start lactating first.

So glad you got some rest. EIGHT WHOLE HOURS?? Tell me, what was it like? Was it heavenly?
